Kids Spring Break Day Camp Guide

Grass River Natural Area Spring Camp (Bellaire)

Grass River Natural Area will be hosting a 2023 spring day camp for children 7 to 12 years old. Your children can spend their spring break tapping maple trees for sap, tracking animals along the boardwalks, building a campfire, or enjoying the view along Grass River - perfect for the child that loves the outdoors in spring.

• Details:

  • The purpose of the spring camp is to get children engaged and active in the outdoors to increase their knowledge and appreciation of the natural environment. Campers will be involved in a variety of outdoor hands-on activities that allow them to explore nature during the spring season. Activities may include tapping maple trees, tracking animals, using binoculars to go birding along the boardwalks, building a shelter, or enjoying hot chocolate by the fire.

Fedorov Hockey Academy (Petoskey)

The Fedorov Hockey Academy will host two spring break hockey camps at the Petoskey Ice Arena: Stick handling and Conditioning Spring Clinic, and Spring Break Camp

    • The Stick handling & Conditioning Clinic offers the best on-ice training, instruction, and development for athletes ready to take their skills to the next level. FHA will help your player become more confident and creative with the puck and increase their playmaking ability. They will teach players the proper wrist roll, hand extension, and flexibility skills they need to control and shoot the puck.

    • Ages 5-18 years old

    • 4-week clinic in April and May, 2023

    • Two evenings per week (Tuesday and Thursday) from 5:30-6:30pm

    • A skill development clinic series for Mites thru College for both boys and girls (all playing levels). The camp focuses on power skating and stick-handling with the importance of mastering skills through proper instruction, repetition, intensity and most importantly, consistent practice.

    • Programs available for campers 5-11 years old and 12 years and older.

    • Players will be on ice for four days, Monday through Thursday.

Norte Spring Break Mechanic Classes (Traverse City)

Get your young ones ready for springtime adventure with Norte Youth Cycling's Spring Break Mechanic Classes! With a maximum of six students per session, your child will receive individualized attention to learn about bike maintenance and repair.

• Registration:

  • Registration opens February 22 at noon

• Details:

  • Ages 5-10

    • For elementary-aged students (5-10 years old), we will split our 6-hour instruction time over three days, covering essential bike maintenance, flat repair, and an introduction to brakes and derailleurs.

    • Classes are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday beginning on March 27 from 12–2 pm.

    • Cost: $65

  • Ages 11-18

    • For middle and high schoolers (11-18 years old), we're offering eight hours of instruction split over two days, covering the same topics as above, but in greater detail, including an introduction to wheel truing.

    • Classes are Tuesday and Thursday, beginning on March 28, from 12–4 pm.

Old Town Playhouse Day Camp (Traverse City)

When TCAPS schools are out, your kids can still learn and have fun at Old Town Playhouse's Theatre Day Camps!

  • March 24 and April 7 from 9:30am - 3:30pm

  • Ages 6-13

  • Throughout the day, students will participate in a variety of activities to broaden their theatrical skills such as: playwriting to encourage creative thinking, prop and set construction to explore the technical side of theater, and theatre games to build their physical and vocal skills. The day ends with the opportunity for the campers to perform for each other.

Spring Break Camp at Grand Traverse Bay YMCA (Traverse City)

When school is out, the Y is in! Join us during School's Out Spring Break for educational, creative and physical games and activities that are sure to keep kids ages 4-16 having fun and learning along the way. They will have the opportunity to make new friends and engage in indoor and outdoor activities in a safe and positive environment.

School Break Mini Camps at Elev8 Climbing and Fitness (Traverse City)

Just because school is out doesn’t mean your kids should be stuck at home! Get them signed up for a mini camp at Elev8 Climbing and Fitness and keep them climbing over the break. These partial-day mini-camps are multi-session and instructor-led and are filled with loads of activities and games revolving around climbing!
