Top Things To Do with Kids in Northwest Michigan this Week

A children's book festival, multiple 5Ks, the Festival of Trees and more - browse the top things to do with kids in Northwest Michigan this week!
TC Children's Book Festival
Head to the City Opera House in downtown Traverse City for the Traverse City Children's Book Festival. The festival will offer a sampling of books for the entire family from a variety of Michigan and national publishers who will be on hand with wonderful stories for the entire family! Local non-profits will be on hand with fun, kid-friendly activities and crafts.
Step Outside for a 5K
There are two 5Ks happening this week!
First, the A-Maze-Ing 5K at Jacob's Farm - the corniest race in the North! Come run, walk or “stalk” your way through Jacob’s famous, 10-acre corn maze. The run also includes an off-road adventure throughout the farm. It’s great fun for the whole family!
Next, the Wild Turkey Trot 5K at the Grass River Natural Area. Run or walk the designated course on race day with other participants, or run your own 5k at your own convenience and submit your time later.
Free Admission at Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore
In celebration of Veterans Day, the Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore will be waiving the $25 entrance fee on Friday, November 11. Visit and enjoy the wonders of the only National Park in lower Michigan. It's a beautiful way to experience autumn in Michigan with miles of trails and sweeping views of the dunes and Lake Michigan.
Festival of Trees
Shop the Yuletide Emporium and stroll through the beautiful Tall Tree Gallery and Tiny Tree Tour at the Festival of Trees. Enjoy Foodie Friday on November 11, Sing-a-Long Saturday on November 12, and Holly Jolly Sunday (with a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus!) on November 13.
